Hermitage Village Hall is a Charitable Trust whose purpose is to improve the quality of life for the residents of Hermitage.
Village Hall History and Background
The current Village Hall was The Church School and was erected in 1841 for 120 children. It closed in 1913 when the County Council took over education of children and built a school on the current site. The old school building was managed for many years by the church as a village hall, until a number of energetic local residents led by Miss Corsar purchased the buildings in 1962 and rebuilt the hall as we know it today. The Village Hall is now managed and owned by the Trustees being the elected Village Hall Committee and is in constant use, being a great asset to the village.
